"Reconcilliation"

All age, multi-sensory exploration of the Passion story, interrupted by meditations and prayers

We gathered around the cross...

... to join together in the opening liturgy.

Then there was time to explore the six stations:

  • Peter's denial, where we confessed and reflected on what marked us out and identified us, and where we painted our hands with red paint and printed it onto the paper of the cross....
  • Pilate's handwashing, which we explored by painting a stone then walking a mini-labyrinth to the centre, where wewashed the stone clean....

then made a cairn at the centre of the cross...

  • Simon of Cyrene, where we pulled crackers to experience an activity where it works best to help each other out, and carried our burdens to the foot of the cross...
  • the crucufixion, where we reflected on pain. The noise of hammering was disturbing...
  • the two criminals, where we meditated on our memories....
  •  Mary, mother of Jesus. We 'wondered' about her...

and took time to mark our grief....

The time was interspersed with Bible passages and prayers, then we gathered around the cross again for the closing liturgy.
