Who We Are

Ambient Wonder are a community. We are a gathering of people with a desire to go beyond '

man at the front' models of church, and to provide a space in which we can encounter God in new ways. It is our fragile human attempt to approach the unassailable bigness of the Creator.

As a part of the Norwich Christian Meditation Centre, there is always space for contemplation but also many other forms of expression and creativity.

We aim to truly multisensory and create space for questions and 'wonderings' in order to challenge and enlarge our understanding of God.

We believe that every person is on a spiritual journey and we can learn from others, no matter how old or young we are.

We encourage everyone who is interested to get involved in putting events together. There is no hierarchy and our aim is for everyone to be empowered to connect with God, using the gifts and creativity we've been given.

We have an expectation that the event is about creating space to explore and experience rather than to prescribe and give answers.

Why call ourselves ambient wonder?

The words are deliberately chosen.

Ambient: completely surrounding and encircling.

Wonder: to speculate curiously, to feel wonder and amazement, a state in which you want to learn about something, to express doubtful speculation, something miraculous.

Together, the words provide an idea of how we go about expressing our faith and what's important to us...
